Portland is my home. I know the local schools, businesses, and neighborhoods - and even boast a collection of rare antique photographs from the area. Having lived in the Mt. Tabor area since 1955, I have seen the exciting evolution of our community.
For 15 years I coached little league and also taught seventh-grade history at Robert Gray Middle School. Simply put, I believe in teamwork. As a coach and a teacher, I learned that to achieve greatness, you must win respect and commitment of your team.
When my partners and I decided to form Realty Trust Group in 1997, we agreed that teamwork and client-focus would be guiding principles for the company. In building relationships and combining talents, we knew that we would have a far greater chance to ensure everyone’s success. As a result, all agents at Windermere Realty Trust are committed to making each transaction a win-win.
Sports are still a big part of my life. As a graduate of Oregon State University and a Beaver Football season ticket holder, I am no fair-weather fan. Golf is also one of my greatest passions. I am fortunate enough to have played at many of the top courses in the world, and count St. Andrews in Scotland, Royal County Downs in Ireland, and Pacific Dunes in Bandon, Oregon among my favorites.
I started my Real Estate career in 2005 due in part to my father, Jan Caplener. It’s a family affair here at the Hawthorne office with my dad, his brother Jim and everyone else on the Caplener Group whom I’ve known for most of my life. I am very fortunate to have grown up in Mt. Tabor and have done most of my Real Estate transactions right in the neighborhood. I was actually born and raised just a block from our office. I now live on the back side of Mt. Tabor park where I purchased my first home in 2004. I can’t imagine living anywhere else.
If I’m not around the office working, there is a good chance you can catch me up at Mt. Tabor walking my Labrador Retriever, Cody. I also love to hit the links -- depending on the weather -- and snowboarding at Hood in the winter. I’m becoming a bit of a green thumb, and enjoy working in the yard. I am also proud to say that I am EA S.T.A.R. certified (Sustainability Training for Accredited Real Estate Professionals). This has helped me speak to and understand new green products that are being used in today’s modern construction.

Jamie calls on her past experience as an administrator, a bookkeeper and a legal secretary to provide exceptional service to a diverse group of clients.
